Bryce Young said on April 21 that this offseason has been a “luxury” for him and the Carolina Panthers, citing coaching stability, familiarity with the playbook, and the addition of key players. Speaking to local media after the start of offseason programming, Young explained that having consistency in coaches and teammates has allowed him to focus on refining details in his preparation.
This sense of continuity is significant for the Panthers as they look to build on recent successes. The team has secured multiple division titles and playoff appearances, according to the official website. The emphasis on building a championship culture remains central to their approach while engaging in community outreach across North and South Carolina.
Young highlighted how returning offensive coordinator Brad Idzik will take over play-calling duties from head coach Dave Canales this season. “I’m excited, I have all the confidence in the world in Brad,” said Young. He also praised receivers Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker as established leaders heading into offseason workouts: “It’s huge. It’s a huge luxury for me, for us as a team… It just gives us that stability.” McMillan reflected on his rookie season achievements by saying, “None of that was a surprise to me… I knew that stuff like rookie of the year… wasn’t too far.” Coker rejoined after signing his exclusive rights free agent tender.
McMillan focused his offseason on regaining strength lost during last year’s campaign: “I didn’t have my power back, so that was pretty much the main focus this offseason for me.” He reported feeling stronger at his preferred playing weight ahead of upcoming games at Bank of America Stadium in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Panthers also welcomed new free agent signings including pass-rusher Jaelan Phillips. Young commented on their longstanding connection from high school football days: “I’ve always followed him and had a ton of respect for his game… I’m super excited for what he brings to the team.” The franchise continues its tradition by offering season tickets, single-game tickets, premium seating options and fan experiences throughout both Carolinas.
Looking forward, Young stressed maintaining hard work despite past accomplishments: “There’s no carryover; we’re not entitled to anything… Everything’s earned.” As players prepare for another competitive season defending their division title, expectations remain high within an organization committed to excellence both on and off the field.
