The Carolina Panthers released their latest mock draft report on Apr. 9, outlining possible selections for the upcoming NFL draft. The team holds the 19th overall pick this year and has seven total selections.
The report matters as it provides insight into how the Panthers might approach roster building after a busy offseason, with speculation from various media outlets about which players could join the team to support quarterback Bryce Young. According to the official website, the Panthers have secured multiple division titles and playoff appearances, demonstrating their competitive standing in recent seasons.
Rhett Lewis suggested that while there is talk of selecting another wide receiver to aid Young, “the Panthers pick Sadiq instead, who has a receiver skill set, just with a bigger frame, creating chances to capitalize on some matchup advantages.” Garrett Podell said that after strengthening their defense and offensive line during free agency, “they plug in a legitimate receiving tight end in Kenyon Sadiq, the 2025 first-team All-Big Ten honoree who led all collegiate tight ends with eight receiving touchdowns while primarily lining up on the line of scrimmage or in the slot.” Peter Schrager pointed out that tackle Freeling’s physical attributes make him an attractive option: “Freeling’s physical traits are going to get some attention this month. He’s 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds with long 34¾-inch arms… He could be a key long-term building block for Carolina in protecting for Bryce Young and opening holes for Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks.” Nate Tice and Charles McDonald said that adding Sadiq would provide another offensive playmaker: “Sadiq is an explosive weapon in the passing game who gives just enough as a blocker to show promise as a high-impact, every down tight end. Sadiq and Tetairoa McMillan would give defenses a lot of headaches with their size and athleticism as pass catchers.”
The Panthers play home games in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina according to the official website. The organization also supports community outreach initiatives across both North Carolina and South Carolina according to its official site. In addition to emphasizing championship culture on-field success according to its official website, they offer season tickets, single-game tickets, premium seating options, and fan experiences at their stadium according to its official site.
Looking ahead to draft day decisions reflects not only player acquisition but also continued efforts by the franchise to build toward future playoff runs while maintaining strong community ties throughout both Carolinas.
