Charlotte FC has added defender Jack Neeley to their first-team roster for a short-term period. This move comes ahead of the team’s match against Orlando City SC, scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET at Bank of America Stadium. Neeley, an off-roster Homegrown Player, is eligible for this call-up.
At 20 years old, Neeley has been active in 11 matches with Crown Legacy this season. As a defender, he contributed offensively by scoring three goals in the last six NEXT Pro matches. Originally from Loxahatchee, Florida, Neeley capitalized on his opportunities with Charlotte’s first team during May when the schedule was congested. He made his first-team debut in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 against North Carolina FC and played again in the tournament’s Round of 16 against D.C. United. Shortly after, he made his MLS and Bank of America debut in a victory over the Columbus Crew on May 24.
Neeley’s professional journey began with Charlotte FC’s MLS NEXT Pro side, Crown Legacy, in 2023. He has become a key player for Crown Legacy’s defense, making 58 appearances and achieving nine clean sheets across all competitions over two-plus seasons.
Off-roster Homegrown Players like Neeley can be included on the MLS regular-season matchday roster through short-term agreements and are allowed to participate in up to six MLS matches.
