Charlotte FC is set to face Columbus Crew at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio this weekend. The match marks the seventh meeting between the two teams, with Charlotte remaining unbeaten in five of the previous six encounters.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, with a kickoff time of 7:30 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the match through the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. For radio broadcasts, listeners can tune in to WFNZ 92.7 FM for English coverage and WOLS 106.1 FM for Spanish commentary.

Charlotte is coming off a defeat against New England Revolution at their home ground, Bank of America Stadium. They now face the challenge of an organized Columbus Crew side known for controlling the tempo. Despite injuries to key players Nathan Byrne and Pep Biel, Charlotte’s coach Dean Smith remains positive. Smith stated, “I think our shape has given us stability and continuity. Players understand what we’re after with and without the ball and I think we’re improving every game.”

Through the first ten games of the 2025 season, Charlotte holds a 6-3-1 record, showcasing their best performance since joining Major League Soccer in 2022. Known for their resilience, the team has bounced back from losses, securing victories immediately in subsequent matches.

Columbus, guided by head coach Wilfried Nancy, favors a possession-based style, allowing them to press and attack effectively. Their defense has been formidable, conceding only eight goals this season and winning four of their last five matches, including two at home. Forward Diego Rossi, with five goals and one assist this season, is a key player to watch.

Before the transfer window closed, Columbus Crew added forward Ibrahim Aliyu from Houston Dynamo, where he scored three goals and contributed three assists last season. Charlotte, meanwhile, signed 20-year-old defender Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, a Canadian youth international with 88 MLS appearances.
