Charlotte FC has announced the extension of midfielder Pep Biel’s loan from Olympiacos FC through the end of the 2025 MLS season. The agreement includes a purchase option contingent on certain performance metrics.
“Pep has become a key piece of the Club since returning for his second stint in Charlotte and you can see the player we saw when we first brought him come alive as he becomes more comfortable within our Club and the league,” said General Manager Zoran Krneta. “We want to continue seeing Pep thrive at our Club, which is why we felt it was crucial to keep him throughout the end of the season and potentially for the foreseeable future.”
Since joining Charlotte on August 15, 2024, Biel has scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 30 league matches. In the current MLS regular season, he has six goals and eight assists over 19 matches, leading his team in assists and sharing top position in goals scored.
Biel, who is 28 years old, is nearing his best single-season performance since 2021-22. During that period, he achieved 18 goals and 15 assists across all competitions for FC Copenhagen and contributed to 16 goals (8 goals/8 assists) in Danish First Division league play.
The transaction details confirm that Charlotte FC retains an option to purchase Biel if specific performance targets are met by the player during his loan spell.
