Charlotte FC is approaching the final eight matches of the regular season with a focus on consistency. The team has recently extended its winning streak in Major League Soccer to five games, following a 1-0 victory against FC Cincinnati. This run marks the longest active league play winning streak in MLS.
Since July, Charlotte FC has collected 16 out of a possible 18 points over six matches. During this period, the club recorded three clean sheets and scored multiple goals in five of those games. The team has scored in 21 consecutive matches across all competitions, including 14 multi-goal performances. Their total of 16 multi-goal outings in MLS leads the league.
Several players have contributed to this consistent performance. Center back Adilson Malanda has played every minute of all 26 MLS matches so far, totaling 2,340 minutes on the field. Captain Ashley Westwood has missed only one match due to yellow card accumulation. Wilfried Zaha and goalkeeper Kristijan Kahlina have each surpassed 2,000 minutes played this season, providing stability for the squad.
Wilfried Zaha’s contributions have been notable, as he is currently on a nine-match goal contribution streak—the second-longest active streak in MLS behind Martin Ojeda’s eleven-game run. Zaha is also tied for second place in the league with five game-winning assists, just one behind Andres Dreyer.
With only a few matches left before playoffs begin and standings tightly contested—just three points separate fourth through seventh place in the Eastern Conference—every point will be important for Charlotte FC. The team currently sits seventh but remains within ten points of first place in the Supporters’ Shield race.
The club has added new players during an active summer transfer window to strengthen its depth as it prepares for the remainder of the season. Maintaining focus and endurance will be key as Charlotte FC looks to secure its playoff position.
“Zaha is dependable. Point blank.”
