Charlotte FC, in partnership with adidas and Major League Soccer, has unveiled its first-ever third kit, The Heritage Kit. This new addition is part of the adidas x MLS 2025 Archive Collection, which features retro-inspired kits to honor soccer heritage.

The Heritage Kit is now available for purchase at the Team Store located at Bank of America Stadium and online at mlsstore.com. An exclusive collection experience is being offered at the Team Store, featuring a limited-edition gift with purchase for the first 500 qualifying purchases and a memorabilia display celebrating soccer in the Carolinas. This offer is available while supplies last on Wednesday, July 16.

The design of The Heritage Kit pays tribute to the rich soccer history in the Carolinas, drawing inspiration from the Carolina Lightnin’, the first professional team in Charlotte established in 1981. Fans will find small details on the kit that reference this legacy, including “I’ve Been Struck” inside the collar.

The Carolina Lightnin’ played for three years at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Uptown Charlotte and were known for their flashy tactics both on and off the field. They broke league attendance records and won a championship in their inaugural season.

This release marks the second iteration of the adidas x MLS Archive Collection; its first was launched in 2024. Alongside The Heritage Kit, a matching Archive Collection jacket and Gazelle sneakers will be available later at the Team Store.

Tonight’s match against D.C. United will see Charlotte FC wearing The Heritage Kit for the first time as D.C. United also debuts their new Archive Collection uniform.
