Charlotte FC has announced the release of goalkeeper George Marks from its roster.
“George has been an integral member of our Club since he arrived in 2022, both on the field and in the community,” said General Manager Zoran Krneta. “We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.”
Marks, aged 25, was selected by Charlotte FC in the third round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft after playing at Clemson University. He joined Charlotte FC following a strong preseason showing ahead of the club’s first season.
During his time with Charlotte FC, Marks made his professional debut during a U.S. Open Cup match against Greenville Triumph SC on April 20 and later appeared in Major League Soccer for the first time against CF Montréal on June 25. Over his tenure, he played in ten matches for Charlotte’s senior team and nine games with Crown Legacy.
The club confirmed that it has officially waived Marks as part of this transaction.
