Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents are invited to take part in the Intergovernmental Eastside Summit and Mobile Resource Fair. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at BOplex — Bojangles Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium, located at 2700 E. Independence Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28205.

The Eastside Summit, with the theme “EAST: Education, Affordable Housing, Supporting Services, and Transit,” aims to provide residents with information on resources, development updates, and engagements with local leaders. Mecklenburg County has a notable project in the form of the new 4.5-acre Eastland Park, which is set to commence construction this summer on the former Eastland Mall site.

The Mobile Resource Fair will give attendees access to various government and nonprofit resources, such as Charlotte Mecklenburg Library’s Mobile Internet Lab, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ Gus the Bus, MeckDental Mobile Unit, and Atrium Health’s Mobile Medical Unit.

The event is hosted by Mark Jerrell, chair of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners; Stephanie Sneed, chair of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education; and Dante Anderson, mayor pro tem of the Charlotte City Council.

Registration for the Eastside Summit is required for optimal planning, and breakfast will be provided. The Mobile Resource Fair does not require registration.

For those planning to attend, the Summit runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., while the Mobile Resource Fair is available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
