Colin Granger, a new addition to the Carolina Panthers, has been spending extensive hours at the team’s facility ahead of his rookie minicamp. His commitment has not gone unnoticed by those around him.
“Anytime I’m here, he’s been here,” remarked a staff member. Another joked about charging him rent due to his constant presence. Jordan Matthews, a fellow player, quipped, “Oh, he doesn’t?” when it was suggested that Granger might live in the stadium.
Granger transitioned from college basketball to football with guidance from George Fant and signed with the Panthers after a Pro Day workout. Since arriving at Bank of America Stadium, he has dedicated himself to learning and improving his skills.
“I’m here by 6:30 every morning,” Granger said, describing his daily routine that includes early workouts and studying playbooks before team meetings start at 9 a.m. He spends his afternoons continuing to learn from coaches and practicing on the jugs machine.
Jordan Matthews praised Granger’s approach, noting the importance of having a strong work ethic when entering something new. “I think these next couple of years are the most pivotal years for his whole career,” Matthews stated.
Granger is set to participate in rookie minicamp sessions this weekend, which will provide him an opportunity to get acquainted with NFL practice routines and further integrate into the team environment.
“There’s no reason I shouldn’t be here as much as I can,” Granger emphasized about making full use of this time before official practices begin.
