Panthers general manager Dan Morgan has been named to the University of Miami football Ring of Honor. Before his current role, Morgan made his mark as a linebacker, earning accolades during college and becoming the Panthers’ first-round pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.

Morgan is honored alongside Miami legends, including Ken Dorsey, Andre Johnson, and Bryant McKinnie. The induction is scheduled during halftime of Miami’s game against Stanford on October 25 at Hard Rock Stadium.

Vice President/Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich expressed excitement for the inductees, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Ken, Andre, Bryant and Dan into the Ring of Honor. This incredible quartet of Canes competed during one of Miami’s most dominant stretches and features three national champions, three first-round draft picks, and seven national player award winners.”

Morgan, who holds the school’s record for career tackles, was an outstanding performer from 1997 to 2000. In his final year, he secured the Bednarik, Butkus, and Lombardi Awards, leading to his first-round draft selection by the Panthers.

Morgan played for the Panthers for seven years, but injuries shortened his career. He is now preparing for his second draft as the team’s general manager.

Ken Dorsey, a former Panthers assistant coach, was a significant figure as a quarterback for Miami, achieving a 38-2 record and securing a national title in 2001. Dorsey is the career passing touchdowns leader in Miami with 86, and he ranks second in passing yards.

The Hurricanes Ring of Honor now includes 31 players, with several having ties to the Panthers, such as quarterback Vinny Testaverde.
