Panthers left tackle Ikem Ekwonu will return to the field this week after missing the season opener due to an appendectomy. Ekwonu participated in practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the final injury report, but he is now active for the upcoming game.

Head coach Dave Canales provided an update on defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton, who will not play this week because of a hamstring injury. Canales said, “he thought Wharton might miss two to four weeks.”

The Panthers have also ruled out wide receivers Jimmy Horn Jr. and Dalevon Campbell, tight end James Mitchell, and tackle Yosh Nijman for this week’s game. Nijman started last week against the Jaguars, but with his absence, Brady Christensen is available to play tackle and adds flexibility to the offensive line group.

With Wharton sidelined, Bobby Brown III is expected to start at defensive tackle. Additionally, rookie Cam Jackson—a fifth-round draft pick—will make his NFL debut after being inactive last week.

The full list of Panthers inactives includes: Jimmy Horn Jr., Yosh Nijman, Dalevon Campbell, James Mitchell, and Tershawn Wharton.

For the Cardinals, their inactives are Xavier Weaver (WR), Elijah Jones (CB), Xavier Thomas (LB), Cody Simon (LB), Tip Reiman (TE), and Will Hernandez (OL).
