Former Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly visited the Pro Football Hall of Fame on April 17 as part of preparations for his upcoming enshrinement in August. Kuechly was joined by fellow inductees Drew Brees, Larry Fitzgerald, and Roger Craig for a weekend that included meetings, tours, and discussions with staff and fans.
Kuechly’s visit highlights the significance of being honored among football’s greatest players. The Hall of Fame serves as a gathering place for those who have made major contributions to the sport. During his tour, Kuechly reflected on both his professional career and earlier experiences at the stadium from his high school days.
While at the Hall, Kuechly shared memories with Steve Flack, an ambassador who connects with visitors remotely from London. After reminiscing about international games played by the Panthers—including matches in Tottenham in 2019 and Germany in 2024—Kuechly described his feelings about visiting: “Feels like I’m at Disney World.” He also recounted playing a high school state championship game at what is now Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium: “It was a really cool experience…that evening was the most perfect night for a high school football state championship game…for whatever reason, it calmed me down and put a smile on my face.”
Fans were present during Kuechly’s visit as well. Chris Perry traveled from New Bern, North Carolina to see him unexpectedly while attending other events nearby. Perry said seeing Kuechly was “the coolest thing ever,” reflecting how much fans value encounters with their favorite players.
The day also included moments such as viewing his original NFL draft card from 2012—a reminder of when he first joined the Panthers—and visiting where his bronze bust will be displayed near former teammate Julius Peppers. As he prepared to leave for further meetings, volunteer Becky welcomed him warmly: “Welcome to your new home,” she said.
