Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is set to launch summer hours for its outdoor water attractions starting Memorial Day weekend. The county’s spraygrounds, pools, and beaches will be open to the public, offering a range of activities for families throughout the summer season.

The countywide spraygrounds will be operational daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., beginning May 26 through September 1.

Cordelia Pool will initially operate only on weekends from May 24 through June 10. Starting June 11, it will follow its summer schedule, opening on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Between August 22 and September 1, the pool will revert to weekend-only operations. It will also be open on holidays including May 26 (Memorial Day), June 19 (Juneteenth), and July 4 (Independence Day). Operational hours are set from noon to 6 p.m., with two swim sessions each day. A $2 entry fee applies. Free swim lessons for children aged 3-15 will be available at Cordelia Park on select days, with registration opening the Saturday before each week of lessons.

Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center follows a similar schedule, operating on weekends from May 24 through June 11 before switching to its summer schedule on June 12. It will open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until August 22 when it returns to weekend-only hours until September 1. The center will also open during specified holidays with the same operational hours as Cordelia Pool. Free swim lessons are offered at Double Oaks for kids ages 3-15 on designated days.

Ramsey Creek Beach begins weekend operations from May 24 through June 12 before shifting to its summer schedule on June 13. It will open Wednesdays through Sundays until August 22 when it reverts to weekend-only access until September’s end of season closure.

Entry fees at Ramsey Creek Beach vary by visit.
