Several departments within Mecklenburg County have been acknowledged by the North Carolina Department of Labor for their commitment to maintaining safe and healthy workplaces. These recognitions highlight the departments’ efforts to ensure safety and health standards through impressive safety records and compliance with specific criteria. The awards focus on key factors such as the number of days employees miss work or require job transfers due to injuries or illnesses.

The awards were presented by North Carolina Commissioner of Labor, Luke Farley, during a ceremonial banquet on April 8. The list of recipients included the Office of the Tax Collector, the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency (LUESA), and the Legal Department, all of which received the Gold Award. Additionally, the Park and Recreation department was recognized with both Gold and Silver awards, with the Gold being awarded specifically to Park Operations.

“Safety First: Department of Labor Recognizes Mecklenburg County” and its associated details underscore the commitment of these county departments to uphold safety and well-being among their employees.
