Residents of Mecklenburg County District 3 and the northeast area are invited to attend a community meeting hosted by Commissioner George Dunlap. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., at the University City Regional Library located at 5528 Waters Edge Village Dr. in Charlotte.
The meeting will feature remarks from Mike Bryant, the new Mecklenburg County Manager, as well as presentations on county services and the proposed budget for fiscal year 2026. Residents will have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions during the session.
“Anyone interested in attending can RSVP online by Monday, Aug. 25,” according to the announcement.
Recent data show that enrollment in Mecklenburg County schools declined by 0.4% during the 2022-23 school year compared to the previous year (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/). In total, county schools enrolled 153,537 students during that period (https://www.dpi.nc.gov/).
