Mecklenburg County Solid Waste will hold a Take-Back event on Saturday, September 20, allowing residents to drop off unwanted recyclables. The event is scheduled at Compost Central, located at 140 Valleydale Road in Charlotte, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The County is collaborating with Goodwill and Assist M.E. to ensure that donated items in good condition can be reused by others. Items accepted for drop-off include electronics in working condition, rechargeable or lithium-ion batteries, sensitive documents for shredding (with up to three banker-type boxes per vehicle and required registration), certain medical devices, as well as clothing, towels, sheets, and shoes.
