Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is organizing a series of events this fall aimed at helping residents learn about local history and how to document their own stories. The initiative, known as MeckRoots, is designed to connect community members with the county’s spaces through historical exploration and storytelling.
The MeckRoots program will feature presentations and workshops led by historians, authors, genealogists, and other professionals. As part of its mission, MeckRoots also records and preserves oral histories from people living in Mecklenburg County.
All events are scheduled to take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
