Mecklenburg County is seeking public input on its 2025-2029 Five Year Consolidated Plan and the 2025 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant Program. The program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), aims to enhance housing, improve living conditions, and boost economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals.

The county will host a public hearing on Thursday, July 17, at 3:30 p.m. at the Centralina Regional Council in Charlotte to gather feedback. Those interested in attending can contact Lovetta Walton at 704-348-2702 or [email protected] for meeting materials.

For those unable to attend in person, virtual participation is available via Zoom with Meeting ID: 814 5641 6448 and Passcode: 070971. Comments can also be emailed to Lovetta Walton.

Individuals requiring special accommodations or alternative formats due to language barriers or disabilities should reach out to Timmothy Tibbs at 980-314-2915 or [email protected], providing at least 72 hours’ notice before the meeting.
