Major League Soccer (MLS) has announced that the 2026 MLS All-Star Game presented by Chime will feature a matchup between the MLS All-Stars and a team of All-Stars from Mexico’s LIGA MX. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. This marks the first time the stadium will host the MLS All-Star Game. The event will be broadcast live on MLS on Apple TV in English, Spanish, and French.
In addition to the main event, fans can attend the 2026 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge presented by AT&T on Tuesday, July 28, at Truist Field in Charlotte. This competition will see top players from both leagues competing in various skill-based contests.
Tickets for both events go on sale to the public on Tuesday, March 24 at 10 a.m. ET through MLSsoccer.com/AllStar. Charlotte FC will offer presale ticket packages starting Tuesday, March 3. Fans seeking more information can contact Charlotte FC at 704-593-4100.
This year’s All-Star Game continues a series of matches between MLS and LIGA MX teams as part of an ongoing partnership that also includes other major soccer events such as Leagues Cup and Campeones Cup.
“The 2026 MLS All-Star Game presented by Chime will feature a can’t-miss rematch between the best of MLS and LIGA MX,” said Camilo Durana, Executive Vice President of Major League Soccer. “With the energy and momentum our Leagues will experience coming out of a historic World Cup on home soil, we are thrilled to showcase our All-Stars and put on a great show for fans in Charlotte and those watching around the world on Apple TV.”
Francisco Iturbide, Director of Operations, Competitions and Development for LIGA MX added: “We are excited that LIGA BBVA MX will once again be part of the MLS All-Star Game for the 2026 edition. This event reflects the value of our collaboration with MLS and provides us with an important opportunity to showcase the quality and competitiveness of our players. We are certain that it will be a great week for fans of all three countries.”
Kristi Coleman, CEO of Tepper Sports & Entertainment commented: “Our stadium has consistently shown that it can deliver unforgettable experiences through world‑class events, and the 2026 MLS All-Star Game will be another chance for our city to be on display to a global audience. All‑Star Week will bring community programming and celebrations that showcase the Carolinas’ spirit of service, and passion for the sport. We look forward to welcoming MLS fans from across the country, along with our colleagues from LIGA MX and visiting supporters, to experience everything Charlotte and our region has to offer.”
A week-long series of events is planned around this year’s game in Charlotte—including community service initiatives, player appearances, soccer celebrations, and the fifth edition of the MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate.
Charlotte FC has played its home games at Bank of America Stadium since joining Major League Soccer as an expansion franchise in its inaugural season in 2022 (https://www.charlottefootballclub.com/). The club participates in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference (https://www.charlottefootballclub.com/) as a professional soccer team based in Charlotte (https://www.charlottefootballclub.com/). Since then, it has consistently ranked among league leaders in attendance numbers.
Bank of America Stadium was originally opened in 1996 for NFL’s Carolina Panthers but has since been transformed into a multi-sport venue under Tepper Sports & Entertainment ownership beginning in 2018. Renovations are underway with completion expected by 2030.
The upcoming match marks the fifth time that an MLS-LIGA MX showdown headlines an All-Star Game. Of their previous four meetings since this format began in 2021, Major League Soccer teams have won three times—most recently securing victory with goals from Sam Surridge, Tai Baribo and Brian White—while LIGA MX earned their first win over MLS All Stars with a decisive result during last year’s contest.
Both leagues have featured prominent international stars on their respective rosters during past editions—such as Hugo Lloris or Santiago Giménez—and notable national team members from Mexico, Canada or United States.
Major League Soccer is headquartered in New York City with thirty clubs throughout United States and Canada celebrating its thirty-first season in 2026. More information about matches or streaming options is available via mlssoccer.com or apple.com/apple-tv-app.
