The Carolina Panthers have updated their depth chart ahead of Week 3, following injuries to key offensive linemen during Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. The team announced that starting right guard Robert Hunt and center Austin Corbett have been placed on injured reserve as they prepare for their home opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

Head coach Dave Canales confirmed that Chandler Zavala will step in for Hunt at right guard, while Cade Mays will move back to center. Mays previously filled this role last season after Corbett suffered a torn biceps tendon, starting eight of the final nine games.

Canales addressed the challenge of replacing both players: “I think about Cade and the opportunity for Chandler coming in there, but between Austin and between Rob, these are two guys that I lean on also just for messaging and for the toughness and the fight and the discipline to just continue to go back to work. So, we’ll certainly miss those guys that way.”

To bolster depth on the offensive line, Carolina signed Nick Samac, a former Baltimore Ravens practice squad member. Samac is now listed as Mays’ backup at center. The Panthers also added linebacker Maema Njongmeta to their roster.

The full updated depth chart is available on the team’s official website.
