The Carolina Panthers have released their first unofficial depth chart for the 2025 regular season ahead of their opening game against Jacksonville on Sunday.

The roster shows recent changes at wide receiver. Adam Thielen was traded shortly after final cuts to 53 players, and Jalen Coker is now on injured reserve due to injury. Hunter Renfrow, who was released last Tuesday, has been re-signed and is listed as a starting wide receiver alongside Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette.

At tight end, Ja’Tavion Sanders remains the starter with Tommy Tremble backing him up following Tremble’s return from offseason back surgery.

On defense, Tershawn Wharton, A’Shawn Robinson, and Derrick Brown are listed as starters on the line. Bobby Brown III is behind Wharton. The team notes that these four will rotate based on down and distance because of their complementary skills.

Nick Scott is named as a starting safety next to Tre’von Moehrig, with rookie Lathan Ransom and second-year player Demani Richardson providing depth. Defensive deployments may vary throughout games.

A notable change appears in special teams. Ryan Fitzgerald is set as the kicker after winning the training camp competition for the position. Rookie Trevor Etienne will handle both kick returns and punt returns, with Rico Dowdle, David Moore, and Jimmy Horn Jr. also available for kickoffs. Moore and Horn are listed behind Etienne for punts.

“Now, Renfrow is listed as a starter at wide receiver, alongside Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette.”

“Ja’Tavion Sanders is still listed as the starting tight end, with Tommy Tremble behind him after returning from his offseason back surgery.”

“On defense, the starting line is listed as Tershawn Wharton, A’Shawn Robinson, and Derrick Brown, with Bobby Brown III listed behind Wharton. (The reality is those four will largely mix and match based on down and distance because of their complementary strengths.)”

“Nick Scott is listed as the other starting safety next to Tre’von Moehrig, backed up by rookie Lathan Ransom and second-year man Demani Richardson. (Again, these guys will play in varying deployments.)”

“The one big change is on the special teams depth chart.”

“Ryan Fitzgerald, of course, is the kicker listed since he won the initial training camp competition for the job.”

“Fellow rookie Trevor Etienne is listed as the first kick returner and punt returner, with Rico Dowdle, David Moore, and Jimmy Horn Jr. listed next on kickoffs, and Moore and Horn behind him on punts.”
