The Carolina Panthers have completed their practice squad for the season by signing three players and releasing one, bringing the roster to 17. Defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy has rejoined the team after clearing waivers. The Panthers also added running back DeeJay Dallas and cornerback Kalen King.
To make space for these additions, the team released cornerback Shemar Bartholomew from the practice squad.
Crumedy was last year’s sixth-round pick and had initially made this season’s 53-man roster before being waived on Wednesday following two player claims by the team.
Dallas brings experience working with head coach Dave Canales from their time with the Seattle Seahawks. Canales described Dallas as “A high-character guy, a great teammate, a jack of all trades.” Dallas is known for his versatility and contributions on special teams.
Kalen King, drafted in the seventh round by Green Bay in 2024 out of Penn State, spent last season on the Packers’ practice squad.
On Wednesday, Carolina signed 13 players to their practice squad—all of whom participated in training camp. This group included linebacker Krys Barnes; outside linebacker Boogie Basham; defensive end Jared Harrison-Hunte; offensive linemen Jarrett Kingston and Brandon Walton; linebacker Mapalo Mwansa; tight end Bryce Pierre; wide receivers Ja’seem Reed and Ainias Smith (the latter signed Thursday); cornerbacks Michael Reid and Shemar Bartholomew (now released); defensive tackle Sam Roberts; offensive tackle Michael Tarquin; and safety Trevian Thomas. Quarterback Hendon Hooker was also added earlier Thursday.
Mwansa does not count against the standard 16-player limit due to his participation in the league’s International Player Pathway program.
Last season, most of Carolina’s practice squad saw playing time during at least one game with the team.
