Now that July has arrived, the countdown to training camp and the start of the 2025 NFL season is officially underway. The Carolina Panthers are gearing up for their matchups this year, including games against the New Orleans Saints.

The Panthers will face the Saints in Week 10 in Charlotte on November 9 at 1 p.m., and again in Week 15 at New Orleans on December 14 at 4:25 p.m. Historically, the Saints lead the all-time series with a record of 31-29 overall. In Charlotte, both teams are tied at 15-15, while in New Orleans, the Saints have a slight edge with a record of 16-14.

Last season, the Saints dominated their opener against the Panthers with a decisive 47-10 victory at the Superdome. Derek Carr led the charge with three touchdown passes, and Bryce Young was intercepted twice. However, the Panthers bounced back in Week 9 with a narrow 23-22 win at Bank of America Stadium, ending a five-game losing streak. Chuba Hubbard scored two rushing touchdowns and rookie tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders contributed significantly with four catches for 87 yards.

In terms of rankings last year, the Saints finished with a record of 5-12. They were ranked 21st in total offense and struggled defensively, ranking 30th.

This offseason brought significant changes for the Saints. Key free agency additions include re-signing defensive end Chase Young, safety Justin Reid, wide receiver Brandin Cooks, cornerback Isaac Yiadom, and tight end Juwan Johnson. In the draft, they picked offensive tackle Kelvin Banks and quarterback Tyler Shough among others.

A major change is at quarterback as veteran Derek Carr retired unexpectedly due to shoulder surgery needs. Rookie Tyler Shough is competing for the starting position alongside Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener under new head coach Kellen Moore’s guidance. Moore brings experience from working with notable quarterbacks like Dan Prescott and Justin Herbert.

Defensively, Brandon Staley joins as coordinator introducing a shift to a 3-4 defense after years of using a base 4-3 formation. The secondary is notably young following trades and departures but retains pass-rusher Chase Young as an anchor.

Offensively skilled players such as Alvin Kamara along with receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed remain threats against opponents including their upcoming games against Carolina Panthers.
