Now that July has arrived, the countdown to training camp and the start of the 2025 NFL season is underway. It’s an opportune moment to review what the Carolina Panthers’ opponents have done during the offseason.

The Panthers will face the Green Bay Packers in Week 9 on November 2 at 1 p.m. in Green Bay. Historically, the Panthers trail in their series against the Packers with a record of 6-11 overall, including 4-6 at home and 2-5 away.

In their last encounter in December 2023, the Panthers narrowly lost to the Packers with a score of 33-30. The game showcased Bryce Young’s potential as he completed 23 out of 36 passes for a total of 312 yards and two touchdowns, outperforming Jordan Love who had 219 passing yards. However, Green Bay’s running game dominated with Aaron Jones contributing significantly to their victory.

In terms of rankings and results from last year, the Packers ended with an impressive record of 11-6. They ranked fifth in total offense and sixth in total defense.

During this offseason, Green Bay made several personnel changes. They added wide receiver Mecole Hardman, linebacker Kristian Welch, cornerback Nate Hobbs, guard Aaron Banks, linebacker Isaiah Simmons, cornerback Gregory Junior, and defensive lineman Cameron Young through free agency. Key re-signings included inside linebacker Isaiah McDuffie and wide receiver Bo Melton among others.

Their draft picks included wide receiver Matthew Golden from Texas in the first round—a notable event since it was their first first-round receiver selection since 2002—alongside other new recruits like offensive tackle Anthony Belton and defensive end Barry Sorrell.

Significant departures include running back A.J. Dillon who joined the Eagles after missing last season due to injury; center Josh Myers; nose tackle T.J. Slaton; and Pro Bowl corner Jaire Alexander who signed with the Ravens after being released by Green Bay.

As they look ahead to another playoff appearance under quarterback Jordan Love’s leadership—with support from returning starters still on rookie deals—the Packers hope for success this season fueled by both offensive maturation alongside Josh Jacobs’ continued performance plus a solid defense known for its turnover prowess.

When visiting Lambeau Field this November—the “Frozen Tundra”—the Panthers can expect milder weather conditions which might mitigate some traditional home-field advantages associated with colder months there.
