The Carolina Panthers have bolstered their roster by signing cornerback Tre Swilling ahead of the team’s first practice of training camp. The 26-year-old player was previously with the New York Jets and has experience with several other teams, including the Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, and Baltimore Ravens. Swilling has appeared in three NFL games.
Tre Swilling is notably the son of former linebacker Pat Swilling, who played for the Saints, Detroit Lions, and Oakland Raiders.
In order to accommodate Swilling on their 90-man roster, the Panthers waived rookie quarterback Ethan Garbers. This move leaves the team with three quarterbacks on their current roster.
