The Carolina Panthers have signed quarterback Mike White to their active roster following an injury to backup quarterback Andy Dalton, who was unable to practice Wednesday due to a right thumb issue. The move was made Thursday as the team placed offensive lineman Brady Christensen on injured reserve after he suffered a torn Achilles last week and underwent surgery on Wednesday.
White, 30, joined the Panthers last week and is familiar with the Bills offense from his time in Buffalo during the previous season and offseason. He has played in 15 games with seven starts, all for the New York Jets, recording a couple of wins during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. His experience gives the Panthers another option behind starting quarterback Bryce Young if Dalton remains sidelined.
To fill White’s previous spot on the practice squad, Carolina re-signed defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy. Crumedy had been waived earlier in the week to make room for outside linebacker Trevis Gipson but returns after having played in the first three games of the regular season.
