The Carolina Panthers have reached an agreement to trade wide receiver Adam Thielen back to the Minnesota Vikings. In exchange, the Panthers will receive a 2026 fifth-round draft pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick from the Vikings. As part of the deal, Carolina will send Thielen, a conditional 2026 seventh-rounder, and a 2027 fifth-rounder to Minnesota.

This transaction gives the Panthers additional draft capital for future seasons. The compensation is roughly equivalent to a fourth-round pick, which fills a gap in the Vikings’ current draft assets.

Thielen joined the Panthers as a free agent and made an immediate impact by catching 103 passes during the 2023 season. Last year, despite missing seven games due to a hamstring injury, he recorded 48 receptions for 615 yards and five touchdowns. Prior to his time in Carolina, Thielen spent nine seasons with Minnesota, amassing 534 catches for 6,682 yards and 55 touchdowns and earning two Pro Bowl selections.

Following this move, the Panthers have kept seven wide receivers on their initial roster of 53 players. The group includes first-round picks Xavier Legette and Tetairoa McMillan, as well as Jalen Coker, David Moore, Brycen Tremayne, and Jimmy Horn Jr.
