Charlotte FC midfielder Pep Biel has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for week 22, marking his third selection in 2025. This achievement highlights his standout performance as he leads Charlotte FC in selections this year, with teammates Patrick Agyemang, Andrew Privett, and Wilfried Zaha each securing one selection.

The Crown ended a three-match losing streak in league competition with a 2-2 draw against Orlando City SC. Biel played a crucial role by leading the team to a 2-0 advantage through the first 65 minutes with both a goal and an assist. In the match, Biel scored from a Nick Scardina pass and later assisted Bill Tuiloma’s goal with a free kick.

Biel’s recent performances have been notable as he accumulated four goal contributions over the last two matches and seven across the past seven games. He achieved a club milestone by becoming the fastest player to reach 20 career goal contributions within just 29 games, surpassing Karol Swiderski’s previous record of 37 games.

Currently ranked eighth in MLS for goal contributions this season with seven goals and nine assists, Biel also ties for third place in assists. He equaled Charlotte FC’s single-season record for goal contributions set by Swiderski in previous years.

Charlotte FC remains positioned at tenth place in the Eastern Conference table with 26 points and is set to continue its homestand against New York City FC on Saturday.
