Senator Thom Tillis, a Republican representing North Carolina, has recently taken to social media to express his views on various legislative issues and historical commemorations. Through a series of tweets, Tillis has addressed topics ranging from predatory litigation practices to tax provisions affecting local farmers, as well as honoring historical military sacrifices.

On June 5, 2025, Senator Tillis expressed gratitude towards the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board for highlighting his legislative efforts. He stated, “Thank you, @WSJ Editorial Board, for highlighting my bill to target predatory litigation funding practices. Through this bill, I’m working to stop woke and foreign actors from filing predatory lawsuits to destroy American businesses.” He emphasized that such loopholes negatively impact job creation and increase costs.

Later that day, Tillis commented on a provision within the House tax bill that he believes would harm North Carolina’s agricultural sector. He tweeted, “One of the provisions tucked away in the House tax bill is a tax hike that would decimate North Carolina’s tobacco farmers.” Tillis affirmed his support for local growers and his commitment to removing what he describes as a “hidden tax” from the legislation known as the One Big Beautiful Bill.

On June 6, 2025, Senator Tillis took time to commemorate an important historical event. Reflecting on the anniversary of D-Day during World War II, he wrote: “81 years ago, brave Americans and Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy to defend freedom and defeat tyranny.” The senator paid tribute to their courage and sacrifice while emphasizing their lasting legacy in strengthening national values.

Additional information: The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is known for its influential editorial board which often highlights significant legislative initiatives across various sectors.
