Senator Thom Tillis has been actively sharing his thoughts and concerns on social media regarding recent events affecting both North Carolina and Texas, as well as addressing financial regulatory matters. His posts reflect gratitude towards first responders, empathy for those affected by natural disasters, and a defense of a financial appointee.

On July 7, 2025, Senator Tillis expressed appreciation for the efforts of first responders in North Carolina dealing with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Chantal. He stated, “Susan and I are grateful for the first responders working around the clock to help North Carolinians in areas impacted by Tropical Storm Chantal. As @NCDOT continues to clear roadways please continue to follow directions from local officials.” He also advised residents to stay informed through official channels.

Later that day, Tillis conveyed his sympathy for those affected by severe weather conditions in Texas. He tweeted, “Susan and I are heartbroken to see the devastation in Texas. We are keeping all of our fellow Americans in our thoughts and prayers.”

On July 9, 2025, Senator Tillis addressed comments made by Warren regarding Randy Quarles’ qualifications related to financial oversight. In defense of Quarles’ capability to serve on the Financial Stability Board, he remarked, “Warren’s insinuation that Randy Quarles somehow weakened the Fed’s ability to spot the most elementary of risks – duration risk – on a bank’s balance sheet falls flat in the face of reason. Randy is immensely qualified to serve on the Financial Stability Board.”
