Senator Thom Tillis has recently shared a series of tweets expressing his views on various political and social issues. These statements were made over two days in May 2025, touching on topics ranging from taxation policies to international incidents and regulatory actions.
On May 21, 2025, Senator Tillis addressed the issue of federal subsidies and taxation. He stated that “Hardworking North Carolina taxpayers shouldn’t have to subsidize wealthy residents of blue states like New York and California.” He criticized Republicans for potentially delaying President Biden’s legislative bill due to disagreements over financial support for what he describes as “tax-and-spend Democrats.”
The following day, on May 22, Tillis expressed his sorrow regarding a violent incident in Washington D.C., which resulted in the deaths of two Israeli Embassy staff members. He tweeted “I am deeply saddened and outraged by the horrific attack in Washington D.C. that claimed the lives of two Israeli Embassy staff members.” He condemned the attack as an antisemitic act and mentioned that both he and his wife Susan are praying for those affected.
Later on May 22, Senator Tillis commented on recent actions by federal agencies concerning major investment firms. In his tweet, he remarked that it was a “Devastating blow to the climate cartel, huge win for consumers,” praising the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) for their efforts against BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street.
