Senator Thom Tillis, who represents North Carolina in the U.S. Senate, shared several updates on his official X account in July 2025, covering legislative action, personal milestones, and local infrastructure developments.

On July 19, 2025, Tillis announced his involvement with recent federal legislation by stating: “I was proud cosponsor of the HALT Fentanyl Act and am glad it has now been signed into law by President Trump. This law will give law enforcement the tools they need to combat the fentanyl crisis and hopefully save lives.” The HALT Fentanyl Act aims to address ongoing concerns about fentanyl trafficking and overdose deaths by providing additional resources to law enforcement agencies.

In a personal message posted on July 21, 2025, Tillis celebrated a family occasion: “Happy birthday to the love of my life, Susan. Your love makes my days brighter. You’re an incredible mother and grandmother who deserves to be celebrated every day. I love you more than words, sweetie. “

Later that same day, he highlighted progress on a significant infrastructure project in North Carolina: “Exciting news for NC! A portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway has reopened. This is the first of many openings as the initial phase of recovery and repair projects on the Parkway approaches completion. I’m proud to have helped secure funding to make these critical repairs possible.” The Blue Ridge Parkway is a major scenic roadway traversing North Carolina and Virginia that attracts millions of visitors each year; it has faced periodic closures due to weather-related damage and aging infrastructure.

Senator Tillis’s public statements reflect both his legislative priorities—such as combating drug abuse—and his continued focus on supporting key projects within his state.
