Charlotte FC Head Coach Dean Smith and defender Andrew Privett have been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for the ninth week of play. With Charlotte FC’s 3-0 victory over San Diego FC, Smith and Privett’s contributions were key in advancing the team’s standing.

This triumph marked Smith’s 20th victory with CLTFC, achieved during their eighth consecutive home win since last season. The team is currently unmatched at home, maintaining a perfect record of 5-0-0. Charlotte FC also leads the Eastern Conference in goals scored with 16 and has allowed only seven goals over nine matches, securing the second-best defense in the East.

The win over San Diego FC propelled Charlotte FC to the top of the Eastern Conference standings for the first time in its history. They are currently second in the Supporters’ Shield race with a total of 19 points.

Andrew Privett contributed to CLTFC’s clean sheet and scored his first professional goal in the 57th minute, following a free kick by Ashley Westwood. This match was a milestone for Privett, marking his 50th regular-season appearance for the Club.
