U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) unveiled a multi-prong plan to corral the coronavirus, safeguard North Carolinians, and get ready for the next pandemic.

The Republican U.S. senator detailed his plan in a July 23 news release published on his website

The senator’s plan of action seeks to do the following, including, but not limited to: increase domestic production of personal protection equipment for health care and frontline workers, expediting the testing process and place an emphasis on security.

"Our state and nation are at war with COVID-19, and my sole focus is protecting the physical and economic health of North Carolinians so we can defeat this virus and safely return back to our normal lives," Tillis said in the news release. "I’ve been working across the aisle to support our hospitals, save jobs, and help North Carolinians during this crisis. While we’ve made progress, we still have work to do to get through this pandemic, which is why I’m offering a plan of action to advance testing, boost PPE production, and protect the jobs and livelihoods of North Carolinians who are weathering this storm."
