Dr. Bonnie Coyle will be joining the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department as its new medical director.
“I am very excited to have Dr. Coyle join Mecklenburg County Public Health,” Public Health Director Dr. Raynard Washington told WCNC recently. “Her clinical expertise and public health experience will be a huge contribution to our team and our mission to make the community a healthier place for all of us.”
As its new director, Coyle will be the County’s leading medical professional.
Coyle has a background that will help as a public health professional. She is certified in Preventive Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine and has been working in the public health arena for more than 25 years.
Coyle’s past positions include her most recent post as the Public Health director at Cabarrus Health Alliance, which she had held since April 2020; a news release quoted by WCNC said. Before that, she was with St. Luke’s University Health Network for more than 20 years, including time as the chair of its Community Health and Preventive Medicine section.
