Residents of the Cotswold neighborhood of Charlotte now have another Novant Health facility to visit should they need immediate medical care that doesn’t warrant a trip to the emergency department of a hospital.

Novant Health-GoHealth Urgent Care is opening a new facility at 114 S. Sharon Amity Road. It is the 13th Novant-GoHealth Urgent Care center in Mecklenburg County. Novant-GoHealth runs 24 such medical centers statewide.

“Our goal is to provide convenient and affordable access to world-class healthcare,” Keith Corrigan, medical director for Novant Health-GoHealth Urgent Care, said in a WCNC report. “This new center is in a central location that provides direct access to urgent care for the community and surrounding areas. We look forward to serving this growing neighborhood and continuing to expand throughout North Carolina.”

One of the reasons for the new treatment center is that Novant-GoHealth wanted to give Cotswold residents a neighborhood link to the group’s extensive network of health care services.

The urgent care site will provide treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries. It will offer on-site X-ray services and COVID-19 testing. If evaluation confirms that a person has the coronavirus, providers at the facility will also be able to prescribe oral antiviral treatments as needed.

The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
