Crown Legacy FC Goalkeeper Chituru Odunze Wins Goalie Wars at the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge

COLUMBUS, OHIO (Wednesday, July 24, 2024) – Crown Legacy FC goalkeeper Chituru Odunze emerged victorious in the Goalie Wars event at the MLS All-Star Skills Challenge on Tuesday night. Odunze secured two clean sheets, ensuring that the championship belt returns to Charlotte for the second consecutive year.

Odunze began the competition against Chattanooga FC goalkeeper Jean Antoine. Both players maintained clean sheets until overtime, where Odunze scored his first overtime shot in the bottom right corner to advance to the final.

In the final match, Odunze faced North Texas SC goalkeeper Michael Collodi, who had defeated Columbus Crew 2’s Stas Lapkes to reach this stage. Odunze took an early lead by scoring into the bottom right corner with his initial attempt and subsequently made several diving saves to maintain a shutout, clinching victory and securing the Goalie Wars belt for Crown Legacy FC's second consecutive win.

Last year's champion and CLFC goalkeeper Isaac Walker celebrated with Odunze alongside WWE Superstars Sheamus and Sonya Deville during the belt presentation ceremony.

Odunze and Walker will now return to Charlotte with their belts as they prepare for Crown Legacy FC's next match against Inter Miami CF II on Sunday, July 28 at 6:00 p.m. ET.
