The Panthers have bolstered their outside linebacker unit by signing veteran pass-rusher Charles Harris. The 29-year-old, who spent the last three seasons with the Lions, brings significant experience to the team.
Harris, a former first-round pick of the Dolphins, has accumulated 16.5 sacks over seven seasons. His most productive year came in 2021 with Detroit when he recorded 7.5 sacks.
The Panthers are currently exploring various younger options for the position opposite Jadeveon Clowney, with DJ Johnson and Eku Leota sharing playing time last week.
In addition to Harris's signing, the Panthers re-signed tight end Feleipe Franks to their practice squad on Wednesday after waiving him on Monday. Franks participated in Sunday's opener and recovered a muffed punt on special teams.
