Charlotte Hornets President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson announced that the team has claimed guard Jared Rhoden off waivers and converted him to a two-way contract. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed, following team policy.
Rhoden played in 17 games with the Detroit Pistons last season, averaging 4.9 points with a field goal percentage of 50.0% and a three-point shooting percentage of 38.7%. He also averaged 1.9 rebounds in 14.4 minutes per game. Over two NBA seasons, he appeared in 31 games for the Pistons, holding career averages of 4.1 points and 2.3 rebounds.
In his NBA G League career, Rhoden has played in 81 games, averaging 19.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
Rhoden hails from Baldwin, New York and played four seasons at Seton Hall University. He left as one of only twelve players in program history to score over 1,200 points and grab more than 600 rebounds during his college career. His achievements include being named to the All-Big East First Team for the 2021-22 season and making the All-Big East Tournament team in 2021.
