May 15, 2024 – The NBA and FIBA have announced that Hornets center Nick Richards and assistant coach Marlon Garnett will participate in the upcoming Basketball Without Borders Americas camp. This event marks its 13th edition and is scheduled to take place from May 17-20 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Richards, who hails from Jamaica, along with Garnett, a former player for the Belize national team, will engage with the campers through various activities. These include offensive and defensive skill stations, 5-on-5 games, as well as sessions focused on life skills and leadership development.

Basketball Without Borders is a global basketball development initiative by the NBA and FIBA aimed at community outreach. Since its inception in 2001, it has reached over 4,300 participants from 140 countries and territories. Notably, 116 former campers have advanced to play in the NBA or WNBA. The program has conducted 73 camps across 49 cities in 33 countries spanning six continents.
