The Charlotte Hornets have announced that forward Miles Bridges has sustained a bone bruise in his right knee. This was confirmed by MRI results following an incident where Bridges hyperextended his knee during the fourth quarter of the team's recent victory against Detroit. As a result, Bridges will not play in the upcoming game against Indiana on November 8 and is scheduled for reevaluation in two weeks.
Bridges, who has been with the Hornets for six seasons, has played in 368 games, starting 263 of them. He holds averages of 14.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game throughout his career with the team. In terms of franchise records, he ranks eighth in points scored (5,459), seventh in field goals made (2,064), fifth in three-pointers (603), tenth in rebounds (2,200), and ninth in minutes played (11,285). So far this season, Bridges has maintained averages of 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over eight games.
Bridges entered the NBA when he was selected by the Los Angeles Clippers as the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft before being traded to Charlotte on draft night. He secured a multiyear contract extension with the Hornets last July.
