The Charlotte Hornets narrowly missed a significant victory against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night at Spectrum Center. Despite a strong comeback attempt, the Hornets fell short with a 98-94 loss to the visiting team.

LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller were key players for Charlotte, scoring 32 and 21 points respectively. Rookie Tidjane Salaün also made an impact with career highs in points, three-pointers, and steals. Miami's Tyler Herro led his team with 27 points, including crucial plays in the final moments that secured their sixth consecutive win over the Hornets.

The game was closely contested until Miami took control in the second and third quarters, leading by 17 points going into the fourth. The Hornets mounted a comeback with a 33-17 run but were unable to maintain momentum after Herro's decisive three-pointer and subsequent steal.

Charlotte managed to reduce turnovers significantly from their previous game but struggled with free throws, making only three out of eight attempts. In contrast, Miami capitalized on their opportunities at the line.

Hornets Head Coach Charles Lee praised his team's resilience: “We are never out of a game because of our fight, because of our talent. This group continues to just impress me."

Looking ahead, Charlotte will face the New York Knicks on Friday for their first home Emirates NBA Cup game this season.
