The Carolina Panthers are set to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a divisional matchup this Sunday. Both teams have a long history of competition, having played each other twice a year since 2002. The Panthers currently hold a record of 3-8, while the Buccaneers stand at 5-6.

Tampa Bay's offense has adapted well post-Tom Brady, despite injuries to key players like Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Quarterback Baker Mayfield has maintained a strong performance with a completion rate of 71.4 percent and 24 touchdowns as of Week 13. Rookie running back Bucky Irving has also made an impact with his rushing abilities and versatility in the passing game.

Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn acknowledged Irving's skills: "I know as a runner, he can run, when you get the ball and cutting, cutting the ball back across the field two or three times. So I know he a good player and be ready for him on Sunday." Corner Mike Jackson added that they need to be aware of how Irving is used in the pass game.

On defense, the Buccaneers will miss safety Jordan Whitehead due to injury. Receiver Adam Thielen noted Whitehead's absence: "He's obviously a great player... but I think they got some other guys that have some experience and can fill in."

The Panthers' defensive line has been bolstered by D.J. Wonnum's addition, contributing significantly to their recent success in pressuring quarterbacks. Offensive coordinator Dave Canales praised Wonnum: "And then the way he prepares, just his professionalism…for the young guys, it's really cool to just have another guy to show them how to prepare."

Quarterback Bryce Young's confidence is growing as he successfully completes passes into tight windows. He expressed trust in his offensive line against Tampa Bay's strong front-seven led by Vita Vea.

Running back Chuba Hubbard aims to improve his performance after facing tough defenses recently. The Buccaneers' defense is allowing an average of 120.7 rushing yards per game.
