Panthers' running back Jonathon Brooks sidelined by knee injury

Running back Jonathon Brooks left the game in the first quarter due to a right knee injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the match. The incident occurred during a non-contact play after Brooks took a handoff late in the first quarter.

Brooks, who had his season delayed because of a torn ACL suffered last November at Texas, made his debut three weeks ago against the Chiefs following the team's bye week. During this game, he limped towards the sideline without putting weight on his right leg. After reaching the blue medical tent, he was transported to the locker room on a cart. Despite walking to the cart under his own power, Brooks appeared visibly upset as he was taken away.

The Panthers now face challenges with their running back lineup. They are left with only one healthy running back in uniform, starter Chuba Hubbard. Reserve running back and return man Raheem Blackshear also exited the game with a chest injury and has been ruled out for the rest of the day. Additionally, Miles Sanders is currently on injured reserve.
