Major League Soccer has announced the recipients of its year-end awards, which honor clubs and executives for their exceptional contributions during the 2024 season. Chris McGowan, MLS Executive Vice President and Chief Club Performance Officer, remarked on the achievements, stating, "We have completed a record-breaking 2024 season for Major League Soccer, and the passion and drive of our club executives are critical for achieving these levels of success.”

Among the honorees is Sporting Kansas City President and CEO Jake Reid, who received the Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year award. Reid's tenure since 2010 has seen significant business growth for Sporting Kansas City. Under his leadership, the club set new records in ticket sales and revenue from sponsorships, merchandise, and concessions. A highlight of 2024 was Sporting Kansas City's match against Inter Miami CF, which achieved the highest ticketing revenue of the MLS regular season and attracted 72,610 fans.

John Thorrington, Co-President and General Manager of Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), was named MLS Sporting Executive of the Year. Thorrington guided LAFC to finish first in the Western Conference during the regular season. The team reached the Conference Finals for three consecutive seasons and won both an MLS Cup in 2022 and a Supporters’ Shield that same year. His role included acquiring key players such as David Martinez, Cristian Olivera, Omar Campos, Hugo Lloris, and Olivier Giroud.

St. Louis CITY SC stood out with two award winners this year. Other clubs recognized include Atlanta United, Austin FC, Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire FC, Columbus Crew, Los Angeles FC (LAFC), Nashville SC, Orlando City SC, and Sporting Kansas City.

The selection process for awards like Doug Hamilton Executive of the Year and Sporting Executive of the Year involves league stakeholders evaluating candidates based on specific criteria. Other awards were determined through peer voting among MLS clubs and League Office members.
