The Carolina Panthers faced a challenging game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, resulting in a 48-14 defeat at Raymond James Stadium. This loss leaves the Panthers with a 4-12 record as they prepare for their final game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Panthers struggled defensively, starting with their fifth and sixth different inside linebackers and missing key players like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, and Josey Jewell due to injuries. The Buccaneers capitalized on these absences, gaining 551 yards in total, with 337 yards accumulated in the first half alone. The Bucs managed to score on their first five possessions.

Despite defensive setbacks, quarterback Bryce Young showed resilience by completing 15-of-28 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Adam Thielen contributed significantly with five catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Special teams had its share of unusual moments when a duck landed on the field during play. In addition to this unexpected interruption, Tampa Bay blocked a Johnny Hekker punt and returned it for a touchdown.

Kicker Eddy Piñeiro missed an opportunity to reduce the deficit before halftime with a wide-left attempt from 53 yards out. The Panthers' running game was limited without Chuba Hubbard, managing only 39 rushing yards as a team.

Several players sustained injuries during the game; Lonnie Johnson left with a shoulder injury while A'Shawn Robinson was evaluated for concussion but later returned to play. Sam Franklin Jr. also returned after being checked for a finger injury.
