The NBA has announced the initial fan voting results for the 2025 All-Star Game, which will be held in San Francisco. Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is leading all Eastern Conference guards with 947,444 votes. Ball, who became an All-Star in 2022, was one of the youngest players to receive this honor at the age of 20 years and 182 days.
Ball's performance this season includes career highs in points (30.1), field goals (10.5), three-pointers (4.5), and free throws (4.7). He also averages 5.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.3 steals over 22 games. His scoring average ranks fourth in the league and could set a new single-season record for the Hornets.
Ball leads the NBA with an average of 4.5 three-pointers per game and scores the most points per game in the fourth quarter (9.6). He is among four players this season to average at least 30 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Nikola Jokic.
LaMelo Ball achieved a career-high of 50 points against Milwaukee on November 23rd, joining an exclusive group of nine players who have recorded at least 50 points, five three-pointers, five rebounds, and ten assists in a single game.
Fans began voting for All-Star starters on December 19th through the NBA App and website using their NBA ID. The voting period ends on January 20th at midnight ET. A special voting day on January 3rd allows votes for Ball to count triple towards his total.
Voting updates will be provided on January's first three Thursdays: January 2nd, January 9th, and January 16th. TNT will announce the starters on January 23rd and reserves on January 30th.
In addition to fans, current NBA players and media members are participating in selecting All-Star starters by submitting one full ballot each during the voting period. Players will be ranked by position within each conference based on fan votes, player votes, and media votes; their score will be determined by averaging these rankings.
The two guards and three frontcourt players with top scores from each conference will start in the All-Star Game. Fan voting acts as a tiebreaker if necessary within any position group.
