ATLANTA—In a dramatic turn of events, Bryce Young delivered an exceptional performance for the Carolina Panthers, marking a significant shift from his earlier struggles in the 2024 season. Once benched after a disappointing start against the Chargers, Young returned to prominence with a standout game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

During Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, Young displayed confidence and skill. A memorable moment occurred when he threw a pass to tight end Tommy Tremble without watching the outcome, trusting in its success. Tremble praised Young's abilities, stating, "He's a baller, man... I'm so proud of him."

The play was part of coach Dave Canales' strategy, which capitalized on defensive weaknesses. Canales emphasized teamwork and preparation: "It's great when our guys know what to expect from each other... that's where we want to grow to."

Young's performance included career highs in passer rating (123.5), rushing touchdowns (two), and total touchdowns (five). He joined Cam Newton and Steve Beuerlein as one of only three Panthers quarterbacks with five combined touchdowns in a game.

Offensive coordinator Canales expressed confidence in Young's decision-making: "Being able to call whatever I wanted... he gave us that ability." Young's growth was evident when he audibled plays effectively during critical moments.

Young credited his teammates for their support: "Just leaning on my teammates; God gets all the glory... it's definitely not just a me thing; it's all of us."

His improvement may be attributed to various factors, including advice from rapper Rod Wave or learning from veteran Andy Dalton. Regardless of the reasons, Young has reasserted himself as a key player for the Panthers.

Tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders affirmed his faith in Young: "I want him to be my quarterback. I wouldn't want nobody else."
