The Carolina Panthers have released veteran running back Miles Sanders ahead of the new league year. Sanders joined the team as a free agent in 2023 and has played for two seasons with the Panthers.

During his time with the team, Sanders had 184 carries, gaining 637 yards and scoring three touchdowns. He also contributed with 51 catches for 302 yards and one touchdown. Despite his efforts, Chuba Hubbard emerged as the starting running back and secured a long-term contract extension last fall.

Sanders showed his value when he stepped in for an injured Hubbard late in the season, scoring a game-winning touchdown in overtime against Atlanta.

Following Sanders' release, the Panthers still have running backs Chuba Hubbard, Jonathon Brooks, and Emani Bailey on their roster.
